RANGE RULES

 

  • It is MANDATORY for everyone on the range to wear ear and eye protection.
  • Shoot only from the designated firing lane. Do not pass beyond the tables unless you are expressly authorized to do so by the Range Officer.
  • No steel targets or personal targets may be used.
  • Actions must be open when gun is unloaded and at all times when not engaged in shooting.
  • One shot per second. NO RAPID FIRE.
  • No shooting from the hip or drawing from the holster.
  • Always be sure it is safe to shoot at your targeted including what is beyond it.
  • If two people use the same firearm, it must be placed on the table, unloaded, with the action open before the next person may use it.
  • Every firearm, loaded or unloaded, must be pointed down range at all times.
  • Accidental or negligent discharge will result in immediate removal from the range.
  • THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES!
  • It does not matter who you are, these rules apply to all customers and their guests.

 

  • NO – Standing or Prone Shooting
  • NO – Pistol Caliber Gun (.357 Mag and up Carbine Rifles or Lever Actions ONLY)
  • NO – Rifle Cleaning at Bench (Unless approved by Range Officer)
  • NO – .50 BMG
  • All actions must be open when gun is not in use.
  • The muzzle must always point DOWNRANGE:
    • – when removing or putting gun in case.
    • – when loading or unloading.
    • – when closing the action.
    • Always post target at the bottom of the backer board.

     

 

  • NO – Full Metal Jacket, Steel Core, or Military Ammo on the 100 Yard Range
  • All Rifles must be scoped. NO RED DOTS (3 power or greater)
  • NO – 22 Long Rifles
  • NO – Pistol Grip Rifles or Short Barrel Rifles (barrel shorter than 16 inches)
  • NO – Pistol Caliber Rifles
  • NO – Rifle Cleaning at Bench (Unless approved by Range Officer)
  • NO – .50 BMG
  • All actions must be open when gun is not in use.
  • Always post target at the bottom of the backer board.
  • The muzzle must always point DOWNRANGE:
    • when removing or putting gun in case.
    • when loading or unloading.
    • when closing the action.
  • Do NOT load gun until in the cage, in designated shooting position and ready to fire.
  • EYE and EAR protection is MANDATORY, whether you are shooting or not.
  • Never load more than two (2) shells in a gun.
  • No shot size larger than 7 1/2s (7 1/2s, 8s, and 9s ONLY).
  • Any reckless or unsafe driving of golf carts is prohibited. (No Refunds)
  • Must be at least 16 with a valid driver’s license to drive golf carts.
  • Damage to Elm Fork equipment is the responsibilty of the customer.
  • Elm Fork is not responsible for loss and/or damage to personal property.
  • No riot guns allowed. (Gun must have full stock and minimum 21″ barrel)
  • Do not attempt to fix or load any machines or equipment.
  • Alcohol is prohibited on Elm Fork/City of Dallas property per DALLAS CITY ORDINANCE.
